First, I will mention what Tan Malaka said, that this world should be divided into small dogs, not big and small. Let's consider when Francis Fukuyama claimed that the 'American' style of democracy is the end of history. Maybe he forgot one thing: history. There are numerous examples that are not even 100 years old, which undermines the strength of his argument. However, we can't underestimate the fact that the US and NATO are still striving to expand further east, as evident in recent conflicts. Let's not forget Taiwan, as it seeks to establish itself as a dominant force among smaller nations.
Secondly, and most importantly, we should not have low self-esteem. Indonesia is a significant country with vast human resources, territory, culture, and history. As Thomas Piketty stated, the economy influences many aspects, among many others. Let's join forces and fight together, not only for ourselves but for the future generations.
Regarding the upcoming election and the recurring pattern of 2-1-2 cycles, with two years dedicated to consolidating power, one year for work, and two years leading up to the next election, we must remember this pattern. However, we are moving on from the older generation. In my opinion, they will become irrelevant by 2045 when this country turns 100 years old. It will be the young people who will be in positions of power on that day.
We need to moderate our thoughts and ensure that wisdom accompanies them, just as it does with us. But is it relevant to consider whether they will remain relevant until 2045 if we make calculations in the manner of ordinary people? I think we all know the answer...
